Jacob’s Blessings for the Tribes, the Flood & Noah
–This is just a little insight into what I think is a much larger project, God willing, I will be working on.
This week’s Torah portion Vayechi (And he lived) was Genesis 47;28-50;26 included the texts wherein Jacob, Israel, blesses the twelve sons. The Lord led me to several things but the most overt themes seemed to connect with the portions regarding Noah and the flood. At first a few words and phrases seemed to stick out to me but the more I looked the more I saw and I think there’s a lot more to it than what is even highlighted below.
Why is this important? The portions which preceded this week are all about the famine which had the potential to wipe out the known world at the time, but God ordained and orchestrated a great salvation for all via His placement of Yosef in Egypt. The portions which will follow are going to lead us into the book of Exodus, the enslavement of the Hebrews and their eventual redemption and deliverance. Why is our Torah portion seeming to point us back to the flood, another occasion of Righteous Judgment and Divine Salvation? Why now, the first portion of the new year of the Last blood moons on the front and back end of the Feast Cycle of the Lord, 2015 ?
The Master said:
Matthew 24; 37 For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. 38 For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 40 Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the ]mill; one will be taken and one will be left. 42 “Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
–So I believe it will be vital in preparation for the return of Yeshua for believers to return to the Torah, the Feasts and a close examination of the ancient paths. My opinion. Now, read the scriptures from near the ‘start’ of Genesis and those which seem to connect from the closing portion of the book and see what you think. All coincidence?
Ecclesiastes 1; 9 That which has been is that which will be, and that which has been done is that which will be done. So there is nothing new under the sun.
(Italicized verses are from the Noah and Flood texts, bold words are what stood out to me)
*Israel says he wishes to tell his sons what will happen in the days to come, the Hebrew denotes something a little more specific- he’s actually telling them he wants to give them a foresight into the END DAYS-strongs H319 ‘achariyth akh-ar-eeth’) the last or end, hence, the future; also posterity….via these ‘blessings’ he bestows on each son/tribe.*

—Conclusions: this is just the beginning!! Each year is a new cycle, the word is living and active! That is why we turn it and turn it again. You want prophecy for today, look in the Torah.
