The numerical value of the Hebrew letter Gimel is three
The gimel resembles a man walking
It represents the walk of a spiritual person
The “mission of gimel” is to bring food and nourishment to the dalet (which is the next letter in the Hebrew aleph bet- which represents the door)Yeshua- Salvation
He is in the Torah and before he became flesh and dwelt among “us“.
He is at the beginning, the expressed image of the One “invisible” God
The Word or memra through which and why all things were created. (Gen.1;26)
Yeshua is the living Word, the Torah of Truth, faithful and trustworthy.
He is that Word whom comes to Abraham at the Covenant of the Pieces and He is the fiery torch whom passes through the split animal parts making covenant forever with Abraham and Israel. (Genesis 15;1-20)
The Children of Israel were liberated from Egypt- Mitzrayim- trials and tribulations and he is the pillar of fire at night who stood at the rear guard placing “himself” between the enemy who sought to destroy and those he had claimed at the Sea of Reeds and cloud by day which covered and protected them in the wilderness, who lead them in all their journeys. He is the living water, the Word, the Memra, and he was that Rock in the wilderness who followed his beloved and gave them water so that they might have life!Yeshua, the rock was struck a total of three times. The first time in Rephidim, the people test God and cry out for water. Moshe called the place Massah U’Meribah -quarreling, arguing, test. Exodus 17;1-7 The next time the rock is struck is in Numbers 20;7- 13)
This could be reckoned as the 2nd and 3rd times, for Moses disobeyed God Who told him to speak to the rock and he struck it twice with his staff, this disruption in God‘s intent cost the great Moshe the Promised Land. The 3rd “strike” may also be reckoned to the offering of Yeshua on the stake, he was stricken that all mankind may find life Eternal.
When he was pierced both water and blood flowed from his side.
*Something to note*1st strike- war with Amelek, Gen.17;8-15
2nd strike- Amelek attacks Num. 21;1-3
3rd strike- Yeshua prophesied the destruction of the Temple, 40 years after his death (30 a.d.) (Second Temple destroyed 70c.e.)
There are three pilgrimage festivals on God’s Biblical Calendar (Leviticus 23;1-44) during which the men and boys of age (Mat Mitzvah age 13) were required to come to Jerusalem to the Temple and bring their offerings to God. Often the whole family would travel, and Jerusalem became packed with people coming to celebrate and recognize their King! (Ex.23;14-19) Yoseph and Yeshua surely observed these appointments which were the Festivals of Pesach (Passover), Shavuot(The feast of Weeks- Giving of the Torah, God giving the wedding ring- Torah to His covenant people) and Sukkoth (Feast of Booths, Tabernacles). The 1st Pesach speaks of liberation from Egypt and suffering, the Lamb whom was slain, placing upon his head the sins of all men…Yeshua, who dies at Pesach has his last meal during the Seder (order). The 2nd Shavuot is during the grain harvest, life and sustenance is bountiful and the Omer (count) is done for 50 days (“seven complete weeks) as preparation for our minds and spirits to receive the perfect blueprint for life lived to God’s potential for each one of His children…the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. The 3rd Shavuot- Tabernacles this year beginning October 1…is close to the actual birth of Yeshua and is a time to go out and dwell among the Lord in a temporary dwelling…reminding us of the wilderness experience where God sheltered and guided, provided for and protected his precious children every step of the way…as He does with each and every one of us. We celebrate life and remember the promised Kingdom when Yeshua returns and restores all things.
There are three items often of mention: Grain, Wine and Oil.
God promises that if we keep His commandments and follow His instructions he will provide these things. Duet.11; 13-16 It will be that if you hearken to MY commandments that I command you today, to love HASHEM, your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul, then I shall provide rain for your Land in its proper time, the early and the late rains, that you may gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil. I shall provide grass for you field for your cattle and you will eat and be satisfied. Beware for yourselves, lest your heart be seduced and you turn astray and serve gods of others and prostrate yourselves to them.
In Hoshea 2, we read about the disloyal wife and her (Israel’s) sin against her husband (God; messiah,-Yeshua). -10 And she will pursue her paramours, but not reach them; she will seek them, but not find [them]. Then she will say, ’I will go and return to my first husband, for it was better for me then than it is now.’ 10 For she did not realize that it was I who gave her the grain and the wine and the oil; I lavished silver and gold upon her, [but] they used it for the Baal.
The husband takes back these blessings from her (the sustenance and delightful festive times) but we read on his plans to woo her in the desert and remove from her all the idolatry and sin and to seal a covenant with her once again!
Therefore, behold, I will seduce her, and I will lead her to the desert and I will speak to her heart. And I will give to her vineyards from there, and [make] the Valley of Achor (Troubling) into a portal of hope; she will dwell there as in the days of her youth, and as on the day of her ascent from the land of Egypt. And it shall be on that day-the word of HASHEM- that you will call [Me] Ishi (my husband) and you will no longer call Me Baali (my master). I will remove the names of the Baalim from her mouth and they will not be mentioned again by their name. And I will seal a covenant for them on that day with the beast of the field and the bird of the heavens and the creeping thing of the ground; I will banish bow and sword and warfare from the land; and I will lay them down in safety. I will betroth you to Me forever; and I will betroth you to Me with righteousness, with justice, with kindness and with mercy; and I will betroth you to Me with fidelity, and you will know HASHEM. And it shall be on that day that I will respond- the word of HASHEM- I will respond to the heavens, and they will respond to the earth. And the earth will respond with the grain and the wine and the oil, and they will respond to Jezreel. I will sow for Myself in the land, and I will pity Lo-ruhamah (Not Pitied), and I will say to Lo-ammi ( Not My People), ‘You are Ammi (My People),’ and he will say ‘[You are] my God.’ ”
In Joel we read about the terrible locust plague. Locust have been likened to the Muslim “extremist’s” and if you see the prevalent intent in Islam, to destroy all Israel/The Jewish people and “infidel’s” whom do not convert, it is not hard to connect this concept as we read through scripture.
Joel 1;3 -6 Tell your children about it, and your children to their children, and their children to another generation. 4 What remained from the cutting -locust the abundant-locust has devoured; and what remained from the abundant-locust the chewing-locust has devoured. Awaken, you drunkards, and weep, and wail all you wine-drinkers, over the fine wine that has been eliminated from your mouths. For a nation has come up against My land, mighty and without number;
10 The field has been plundered, the land destroyed; for the grain has been robbed, the wine dried up, and the oil devastated. 11 Be ashamed O plowmen; wait,, O vinedressers- over wheat and over barley, for the harvest of the field has been lost; the vine has dried up and the fig tree has been devastated; the pomegranate tree as well as the date tree and the apple tree- all the trees of the field- have dried up, for rejoicing has dried up from among the sons of man.
The sound of rejoicing is dried up with the produce of the field, yet God desires the response of His people, often the dry and desolate place is the only stage from which we can truly be dependant completely on our King, and from there we cry, from there we call…and He responds.
Joel 2; 15- 17 Blow the shofar in Zion; decree a fast; call an assembly; gather the people; summon the congregation; assemble the elders; gather the young children and suckling’s; let the bridegroom go forth from his chamber and the bride from her canopy. Between the Hall and the Altar let the Kohanim, the ministers of HASHEM, weep; and let them say, ‘Have pity, HASHEM, upon Your people, let not Your heritage be an object of scorn, for nations to dominate them. Why should they say among the peoples, “Where is there God?”
When all the people, the Chosen irreplaceable bride finally emerges to meet her groom as he emerges from beneath the veil of the chuppa-bridal canopy-tabernacle-cover….all eyes will see their union and hearts will melt. Knee’s will bow and tongue’s profess, the God of Abraham, Yitzach, and Ya’acov reigns! He has reigned! He will reign for eternity in glory! And the bounty of blessing will overflow upon His faithful.
Joel 2;18 Then HASHEM will take up the cause of His land and take pity on His people. 19 HASHEM will reply and say to His people: Behold, I am sending you the grain and the wine and the oil, and you will be sated from it, and I will no longer make you a disgrace among the nations.
24 The granaries will be filled with grain, and the vats will overflow with wine and oil.
27 Then you will know that in the midst of Israel am I, and that I am HASHEM your God, there is none other; and My people will not be shamed evermore.
Grain speaks of our strength- God sustains all living things and without his provision for our physical needs life is impossible; our service to Him would be impossible. Thus if devotion is the true desire of our being, He will sustain our being faithfully, providing for ALL our needs.
Wine speaks of our joy- the gladness of our heart, God knows all the desires we have, all things come from Him, He desires for us to delight in His creation all the while recalling it is He who gives and He who takes…He causes death and He restores life.
Oil speaks of anointment- the anointment of the High Priest Yeshua at our service at this very moment taking our prayers cast as incense in his name to the Father on the heavenly Throne of Glory; to the day he is crowned as King who will have conquered….this seal of the oil of anointment cannot be broken..so to with the anointment of the holy spirit which can be upon each one of us if we embrace it, devoting our life to His service.
Samson poses a riddle, the victor comes away with thirty sheets and thirty changes of clothing.
Judges 14; 14 He said to them, “From the eater came forth food; and from the strong came forth sweetness.” They could not tell [the solution of] the riddle for three days.
A riddle of scripture Or an ancient lesson from the Torah and commandments? Proverbs 30; 3-33 (<-note the three’s->)
Daniel,Hananiah, Mishael and Azriah were taken to king Nebuchadnezzar and “trained” for three years before they were to enter the court and serve the king.
Daniel 1; 5 The king provided for them a daily portion from the king’s food and from his drinking-wine to nurture them for three years at the conclusion of which they would stand [and serve] the king.
8 Daniel set [the resolve] in his heart not to be defiled by the king’s food nor by his drinking wine, so he requested of the chief officer that he not be defiled.
17 As for these youths, the four of them, God gave them learning and skill in every script and wisdom; and Daniel understood every kind of vision and dreams.
God spoke to Isaiah and for three years he was to be sign to Egypt and Cush:
Isaiah 20; 2-5 at that time HASHEM spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, “Go and don sackcloth upon your loins and remove your shoe from your foot.” He did so, going unclothed and barefoot. HASHEM said: Just as My servant Isaiah has gone unclothed and barefoot for three years, as a sign and a symbol for Egypt and Cush, so will the king of Assyria lead away the captivity of Egypt and the exile of Cush- young and old- unclothed and barefoot, with exposed buttocks, the nakedness of Egypt. Devastated and ashamed will be those whose longing was for Cush and whose splendor was from Egypt.
Isaiah 37;30-32 And this shall be the sign for you: You will eat this year of the after-crop; the second year fruits from tree stumps; and in the third year- sow and harvest, and plant vineyards and eat their fruits. And the survivors that remained in the House of Judah shall take root below and produce fruit above. For from Jerusalem shall emerge a remnant, and survivors from Mount Zion. The zeal of HASHEM, Master of Legions, shall do this!
The book of Vayikra- Leviticus is the book where Jewish parents begin their children’s scriptural/Torah study at the age of three. These are the verses of the blueprint, the map to holiness, the guide and template for communion, the divine prosperity and happiness God desires for each and every one of His children. The commandments- the commitments- the seal, the ring which signify’s our union with Him. We notice more three’s:
Leviticus 19;23 When you shall come to the land and you shall plant any food tree, you shall treat its fruit as forbidden; for three years they shall be forbidden to you, they shall not be eaten. In the fourth year, all its fruit shall be sanctified to laud HASHEM. And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit- so that it will increase its crop for you- I am HASHEM, your God.
Then Yeshua gave this illustration: “ A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came looking for fruit but didn’t find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, ‘Here, I’ve come looking for fruit on this fig tree for three years now without finding any. Cut it down- why let it go on using up the soil?’ But he answered, ‘Sir, leave it alone one more year. I’ll dig around it and put manure on it. If it bears fruit next year, well and good; if not, you will have to cut it down.
As we dwell in this world we should be joyful and praise God in all things…still we are sadly aware of the growing extent of immorality, inhumanity and disgraceful separation from any concept of holiness-being set apart from the world for Gods use. We pray for Yeshua’s swift return, that we may all be given clarity on how to serve our King and what is correct in His eyes. We pray for Yeshua’s return at the sound of the great shofar blast and look heavenward for the cloud…that the earth we have neglected in caring for during our time here and those would sincerely believe in Him…be restored! While we do this perhaps we should keep in mind the parable above….may we also be given more time to pray for more to turn their hearts to the Creator of all things, another year to minister to and attempt to encourage the seeds of His truth we have sewn (by our example, through prayer, in unashamed declaration of our faith and God in our lives) …to take root, grow and produce more seed bearing fruit…for all mankind, before the owner of the vineyard returns, with his sickle.
Revelation 14;14 Then I looked, and there was a while cloud. Sitting on the cloud was someone like a Son of Man with a gold crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15 Another angel came out of the Temple and shouted to the one sitting on the cloud, “Start using your sickle to reap, because the time to reap has come- the earth’s harvest is ripe!” 16 The one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
But for now, three things last- trust, hope, love;
And the greatest of these is love.
Hadassah arose on the third day to go before the king.
Esther 5;1-2 Now it came to pass on the third day, Esther donned royalty and stood in the inner courtyard of the king’s palace, while the king was sitting on his royal throne in the royal palace facing the entrance of the palace. When the king noticed Esther standing in the courtyard, she found favor in his eyes. The king extended to Esther the gold scepter that was in his hand, and Esther approached and touched the tip of the scepter.
Yeshua donned the flesh of a man to become like us, to feel as we feel and tried to teach us to love as the Father loves. He offered willingly his life as payment for the sins of all men…that we may come before the throne and approach our King once more…and hold tight to the tree which gives life.
It is more precious than pearls, and all your desires can not compare to it. Length of days is at its right; at its left, wealth and honor. Its ways are ways of pleasantness and all its pathways are peace. It is a tree of life to those who grasp it, and its supporters are praiseworthy. HASHEM founded the earth with wisdom; He established the heavens with understanding; through His knowledge, the depths were cleaved, and the heavens dripped dew. My child, do not let them stray from your eyes; safeguard the eternal Torah and [its] wise design.
Yeshua, the innocent lamb without blemish died and on the third day he rose to come before the King, to take his place as our intercessor and the guardian of all Israel..native branches and wild branches grafted into the tree….who neither slumbers, nor does he sleep!
Hoshea 6;2 He will heal us after two days; on the third day He will raise us up and we will live before Him. Let us know, let us strive to know HASHEM like the dawn whose emergence is certain; then He will come to us like the rain, like the late rain that satiates the earth.’
The word of God is living and eternal, it is water for your soul! It will be there to give you life and renewal if only you come to draw from it.
Isaiah 12;3 -6 You can draw water with joy from the springs of salvation. 4 And you will say on that day, ‘Give thanks to HASHEM, declare that His Name is exalted.’ Make music for HASHEM, for He has acted with grandeur; make this known throughout the world. Exult and shout for joy, O inhabitant of Zion, for the Holy One of Israel is great in your midst!
Yeshua means salvation. Come before Him and drink!
May you be blessed my Rock, my King and my Redeemer!
